The Kiwi Cup was intensely competed for every year by the two rugby powerhouse since it started in 1967 but it went into a hiatus from 1978-2005. The Kiwi Cup competition was reinstated in 2006 by passionate alumni members of both schools, with the blessings of the then New Zealand High Commissioner Richard Grant. The Man Who Started It REV. ALAN MCKENZIE was the KIWI CHAPLAIN of St. Andrew's School and VICAR of The Church of the Ascension from 1966 to 1969. In 1967, he invited the then NZ High Commissioner, Mr. Jim WEIR, to witness the annual match between Saints and RI.
