Raffles Parents' Association: To all our Sons of Singapore, we salute your service in the Singapore Armed Forces, and your loyalty and dedication in the Defence of Singapore. As you commemorate SAF Day, we are cognisant of the evolving role of The Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy, and the Republic of Singapore Airforce in response to new and changing global environment. And the important role played by our sons, in whichever capacity and whichever office, in contributing to the defence and stability of our nation. We note the reality of unconventional threats to our security , reflected in situations like the Mumbai attacks, attacks on MV M Star and the piracy situation in the Gulf of Aden.
